Bathroom Remodeler Tips for an Awesome Bathroom

By / Bathroom Remodel / Comments Off on Bathroom Remodeler Tips for an Awesome Bathroom

Spa. Sanctuary. Retreat. Everyone is looking for it, everyone is talking about it. But can you define it? What comes to mind when you think of your own bathroom getaway? The answer is different for different people. A great bathroom remodeler gets that and doesn’t push the same design on every person. So no matter what you want, Inspired Remodels has some tips and ideas to make sure that your new bathroom fits your definition of spa, sanctuary or retreat.

Think Differently About Dual Sinks

Just because you want two sinks, it doesn’t mean you must put them together. Traditionally, dual sinks in a master bath or large secondary bathroom were installed in the same vanity.

You might take a wall and install a 60″ or 72″ vanity and top it with a countertop with two sinks. So, even though you’ve got two sinks, you still have two people side by side. Inspired Remodels thinks about space differently.

In the design above, a beautiful soaking tub divides two separate single vanities. Now this is creative thinking. What the bathroom remodeler did was create a space for two people but each person not only has their own space, they really get the feeling of their own space. Each user has a separate:

  • sink
  • mirror
  • lighting
  • cabinet for storage

Check this out

Even though the space is smaller, the concept is the same. Two people can use the space and still feel like they have their own individual place.

In addition, this set-up takes advantage of the walls to provide each person their own personal towel loop. No sharing sinks, no sharing mirrors, and you don’t even have to share a towel.

This set up would be perfect for teens or children of any age that are sharing a bathroom.

Plenty of room to get ready for school in the morning.

No room for squabbling.

Certainly makes for a smoother morning routine.

Would you be, could you be, won’t you be my neighbor. Mr. Roger’s song was about being a friend, but this design was all about getting friendly with wood.

Wait, except no one puts wood in a wet shower. But they do when the wood is actually tile.

These days, porcelain and ceramic tiles are fashioned to emulate almost any wood. Some are so realistic they incorporate the feel of wood grain.

This time the bathroom remodeler finished the freestanding soaking tub with faux ceramic wood tile.

The same tile is used on the floor of the bathroom.

Notice the floor of the shower in the picture above? That stone look tile isn’t stone. It’s ceramic and the color was very carefully selected to coordinate with the cabinetry in the room.

The cabinets have very clean lines as do the marble vanity tops. That’s why the extra touch of molding at the baseboards doesn’t look over the top.

Instead it’s just a finishing touch.

Kitchen Contractor Tips for a Great Kitchen

By / Kitchen Remodel / Comments Off on Kitchen Contractor Tips for a Great Kitchen

What makes a great kitchen great? Is the the gleaming floor, the smudge free fridge, or the whimsical backsplash? All of those elements may be present in a great kitchen. But you don’t need them to have a great kitchen. A great kitchen is great because it’s got an easy-to-use design and no space is wasted. Inspired Remodels is the Orange County kitchen contractor that knows what makes a great kitchen. Here’s a few tips to make your kitchen great.

You never stumble around in the dark in a great kitchen. A great kitchen makes the best use of natural light and adds in room lighting and task lighting.custom kitchen remodeling job added blue lights for accent color to an otherwise neutral kitchen

Recessed lighting brightens the kitchen. Lights under the upper cabinets sneaks in additional task lighting. Who doesn’t want to see clearly when you’re slicing, dicing, and chopping?

Decorative lighting helps set the mood. Dimmer switches are great when your kitchen is part of an open concept area.

This kitchen uses decorative pendant lights to provide task lighting. Now that’s a lighting two-fer. Two-fers are great in the kitchen; they are the antithesis of the unitasker loathed by TV chef and cultural icon, Alton Brown.  Unitaskers serve one purpose and take up valuable space.

Great Kitchens Make Great Use of Space

There’s not an inch of wasted space in a great kitchen. It’s one of the things that makes it so great.

Above, the slender space between the custom cabinets and stove was used for a small pull-out cabinet. Now you aren’t storing 10 pounds of rice here, but what are you doing with 10 pounds of rice any way?a savvy kitchen contractor incorporated a stepstool into the cabinet kickplate

It’s size and location make it perfect for salt, pepper, and any other spices and seasonings you might want to grab while using the cook top.

Another place space is frequently wasted is the lower cabinet kick space. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

A savvy kitchen contractor knows one way to turn a kitchen into a great space is to add a pull out step in place of a kick space.

This is particularly helpful for reaching the top shelves of upper cabinets. Even those that aren’t vertically challenged appreciate this type of convenience.

Or how about a kitchen island that doubles as a table? Once again, this kitchen contractor slayed the evil unitasker by making the island large enough to double as a table. A normal island doesn’t seat 6 comfortably.  This one does.

The eat-in kitchen isn’t dead, it just looks different. It’s one of those things that makes a great kitchen great.

Bathroom Remodel Company Creates Home Sanctuaries

By / Bathroom Remodel / Comments Off on Bathroom Remodel Company Creates Home Sanctuaries

These days people are spending more time than ever at home. Whether you are working for home or confined under  a stay-at-home order, “home” has a whole new meaning. In Orange County, Inspired Remodels, a bathroom remodel company, is turning homes into sanctuaries.

The Concept of Sanctuary

A sanctuary is a place of refuge or safety. Traditionally, it is a holy place.  When you are threatened, fearful, or in danger, you turn to a sanctuary to protect you.

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the home has become a sanctuary. When the government tells you to shelter in place, it’s the place you want to be.

So, in a way, your home is already a sanctuary.

Why shouldn’t it feel like one?

Inspired Remodels believes that in all times (good and bad) your home is a place of refuge and every room should feel like a sanctuary, especially the bathroom.

Spa Sanctuary

Some bathrooms feel like a spa sanctuary. When you’ve had enough of flattening the curve, economic shutdown, and Dr. Fauchi it’s time to retreat.

Draw a hot or warm bath and soak. Relax surrounded by peaceful, neutral colors and finishes from nature.

While the current circumstances aren’t exactly what the bathroom remodel company had in mind when creating this bathroom, it was designed to be a place to relax and unwind. A refuge of a sort.  A bathroom sanctuary with a spa feel.

From the tile mosaic that starts as a backsplash and continues at chair rail height to add visual interest to the cool stone floors and vanity top, nature is all around you.

The soaking tub beckons you to slip off your clothes and slip into soothing, calming waters.

The simplicity of the shaker-style cabinetry and the clean lines of the dual mirrors complete the look.

Of course, the seashell accent finishes the look.

Who wouldn’t want to forget about viruses, face masks, and social distancing in this room?

Not looking for sanctuary in an Asian-inspired spa experience? How about an Italian escape? This bathroom remodel is heavily influenced by a rustic Roman aesthetic.

Mix natural stone with man-made tile for contrast.   Use oiled bronze faucets to achieve a rustic farmhouse feel.

No simple shaker cabinetry here. This vanity is replete with moldings that border on Baroque.

Frosted glass tempers the light in the room.

Close your eyes and you could be in Italy.

The craftsman’s attention to detail is clear in the shower. A simple space for performing routine hygiene is a work of art.  A niche provides convenience. The built-in bench beckons you to linger in this bathroom sanctuary.
