Foothill Ranch Beauty

Take stunning black subway tile, install it with bright white grout, and you’ve got the setting for a stunning master suite bathroom.

For this Foothill Ranch bathroom remodeling project, the homeowners didn’t trust just any Orange County bathroom contractor. They hired Inspired Remodels to be the complete design and build team.

So, from their first visit to the showroom to meet with Joe until the last bit of construction debris was wiped away, they had a single point of contact and only ever dealt with one firm.  The result? A bathroom remodel that reserves all the drama for the design.

The herringbone pattern adds architectural interest while gold hardware adds elegance.

Lake Forest Love on Yelp

The Lake Forest homeowner needed a complete ensuite makeover. From the closets through to the master bath, the area screamed for a makeover.

Inspired Remodels, the Orange County bathroom contractor that designed and completed the job updated the look of the entire area.

Before Inspired Remodels

Gone are the giant whirlpool tub and sliding closet doors. In their place, you’ll find stylish barn doors and a luxurious soaking tub. All the serenity of spa bathing, but in a new look.

After Inspired Remodels

No wonder the homeowner raved on Yelp. Michael L says

“Had a great experience with the whole Inspired Remodels team (joe, Jason, Bren, Florine, mark, Jose) for our master bedroom bathroom renovation. Would highly recommend them if you’re looking to do something similar. Quality work and materials. Great service. Responded well to texts and emails. Answered all my questions and I had a ton of them. Calmed my nerves in different times.“

That’s more than a bathroom contractor, that’s a bathroom contractor that cares.

Terrific Tilework on Facebook

Subway tile is so last decade. It may still be a favorite in Orange County homes, but one bathroom contractor is breaking the mold and breaking away from the pack. Inspired Remodels makes waves with its creative use of tile in the bathroom. You’ll never think of bathroom tile the same way again.

Luxury Tile for a Luxurious Bath

Luxurious bathrooms deserve luxury tile. Every bathroom contractor who ever completed a bathroom remodeling project knows this! Then why do so many stick with regular subway tiles?

For this bathroom remodel, Inspired Remodels installed Porcelanosa tile for the accent wall. If you don’t know this luxury tile brand, you should.

You’ll find trendsetting and cutting-edge design any time you find Porcelanosa. From mosaics to glazed relief tiles, their wall tiles offer beauty and refinement. That’s why they are an Inspired Remodels trusted vendor for tile.

Now, that’s a luxurious bathroom in Costa Mesa and it just wouldn’t be the same with plain subway tile.

Get Stoned

You read that right. One bathroom contractor is getting Orange County bathrooms stoned. And the homeowners love it.

Stacked stone is a modern way to bring a natural vibe to luxury bathrooms. Use stone to get a rustic or chic look.

Quartzite and travertine make popular choices. But even marble and slate get in on the action. With proper wall preparation, you never worry about stone discoloration.

There’s something to be said for the rustic charm of stacked stone. In this bathroom, the texture contrasts beautifully with the smooth countertop surface and the color complements the hardwood cabinets. Simply breathtaking!

Pickets, Leaves, and More Oh My!

Tile comes in so many incredible shapes, why stick to squares and rectangles?

Inspired Remodels isn’t afraid to think outside the square tile box.

This Aliso Viejo bathroom gets its chic and luxurious use from picket tile. The contrast between black and white is not only stunning but it’s clean as well. Nothing fussy here. Just drop-dead drama.

Orange County bathroom contractor uses reflective tile to make small bathroom look large

And when it comes to the unusual, this Laguna Nigel bathroom turns over a new leaf – with leaf-shaped tile that is! The leaf-shaped reflective tile makes the most of the light in the room to make a small space appear larger.

Bathroom Contractor Talks Tile

By / Bathroom Remodel / Comments Off on Bathroom Contractor Talks Tile

Tile is the perfect surface for bathrooms. It is durable, water resistant and available in many colors, shapes, and sizes. The variety is almost overwhelming. Learn about the differences in tile options from the bathroom contractor that’s making Orange County more beautiful, one bathroom remodel at a time.

Marble and Granite

People used marble as a building material since ancient times. Thousands of years ago, marble adorned public and government buildings. Marble meant wealth in Roman homes. That’s because marble was expensive. Costs to quarry and move marble were almost as much as the stone.

Today Carrara and Calacatta marble are popular in the bathroom. And, you don’t need to be a wealthy Roman merchant or senator. Today’s marble is very approachable and affordable.

bathroom contractor shows how he mixed carrara and calacatta tle in the showerBecause marble tile is worked from stone, no two slabs or tiles are the same. Even marble from the same quarry has slight variations. Both Carrara and Calacatta tiles are from Italy. You’ll find shades from white to light gray. Use this tile on floors, walls, and showers.

Granite is another popular stone tile for the bathroom. You often see granite as a slab for countertops, but granite is versatile.

See how granite was used to contrast with the ceramic tile on the shower floor? It’s the one tile that brings together the tile on the floor and the tile on the shower floor.

Porcelain and Ceramic Tiles

Unleash your inner artist with porcelain and ceramic tiles. Or just hire a very creative bathroom contractor. Porcelain and ceramic tiles come in just about every shape and color you can imagine. So what’s the difference?

Both tiles are made from clay. But, porcelain tile is made with a highly refined clay. That means fewer impurities. Once the tiles are formed, they are fired in a kiln at a higher temperature than ceramic tile. The result is a tile that’s denser and more durable. It’s also a bit more expensive.

Ceramic is fine for walls, but for floors ceramic is the better choice. A special type of thin, glazed ceramic tile is called subway tile. Technically, the tiles used in the Manhattan subways in 1904 were glass. The designers found a surface that was easy to clean and would make New Yorkers feel comfortable in this new underground space. The classic size is 3 x 6.

You’ll find today’s subway tiles in many different sizes and colors. The classic color is white, based on the Victorian-era obsession with cleanliness and hygiene.

Mosaic Tiles

Technically, a mosaic tile is an inlay design created with tiles that are no more than 2″. But in general, mosaic tiles are pieces of art that are made up of small pieces of tile, stone, or glass. They are versatile. You can use mosaics as an accent on the floor or shower walls or create an entire floor from mosaics. Talk to your bathroom contractor about how to use mosaics in your bathroom remodel to embody your own sense of style.

This stone mosaic  covers the entire floor of the shower. The stones are smooth enough to make the surface easy to clean but not so slick as to make the shower unsafe when wet.

These mosaic tiles create a decorative backsplash around the bathroom sink. The same mosaic is perfect for shower walls or roome walls. Mosaics are incredibly versatile.

Mosaics were once painstakingly put together, one tile at a time. Now mosaics come pre-designed. A webbed square holds the tiles in the design together.  Just apply the adhesive, grout, and clean.

This makes mosaics much more affordable than in the past. That’s one reason they are popping up in bathrooms and powder rooms all over Orange County.
