Earlier this month, we peeked into some Orange County bathroom remodels. Today let’s see what your neighbors have been doing in the kitchen. Inspired Remodels, the Orange County general contractors that have been cooking with fire, share some of their recent kitchen remodel projects. Check these designs out from the Facebook page.

Orange County general contractors design Dove Canyon kitchenDining In in Dove Canyon

Well, you can’t go out to eat in a restaurant. Might as well have a stunning place to eat in when you must eat in night after night.

This Dove Canyon kitchen remodel provides two spaces for sharing a meal or a snack. Families can gather at a table sized kitchen island or at a more traditional setting with table and chairs.

Either space offers comfortable room for playing board games, sharing a fondue, or eating family-style. You could even combine the two spaces using the island as a buffet space and the table for seating and eating. And don’t laugh at the fondue, fondue is making a comeback – don’t laugh.

Kitchen islands are so cool they’re hot right now.

Even though you may be hosting large gatherings less you may be entertaining small groups more. Even if it’s just the immediate family.

Face it, everyone wants a reason to celebrate – from losing a tooth to just surviving another week. Tuesday can be a reason to celebrate. And a kitchen island is the best place to celebrate.

Orange County homeowners opt to add functionality to their islands by adding prep sinks, electrical outlets to power portable appliances, plenty of lighting and a surface area providing room to do schoolwork or eat a meal.

Psst, check out the herringbone pattern on the floor. It makes this space look larger!

Orange County general contractors combine light from windows and pendant lights in a small kitchenShining a Light in Mission Viejo

This small kitchen is big on style and functionality and punches above its weight due to the abundance of light.

Start with the natural sunlight that streams unfettered through the window. Add a layer of light with recessed top hat lights and top it off with downlights from pendents.

Now you’ve got light to lift your mood from the window, lights for ambience from the pendents, and functional lights from the recessed lights.

A combination of light, white cabinets, a neutral backsplash and floors, and stainless appliances makes the most of this small kitchen. Black accents contrast contrast beautifully for a sleek, modern look.

custom kitchen remodeling job added blue lights for accent color to an otherwise neutral kitchenYou don’t need to fall back on black and white when adding lights.  In this Orange County kitchen remodel, the downlights are blue, the cabinets are a beautiful birch, and matching countertops and backsplash pull it together.

Even though this picture was taken at night, you can see the window provides plenty of light when the sun comes up.

This kitchen not only uses recessed lighting it also includes under the cabinet lighting for ambience or additional task lighting during meal prep.

Nothing lifts the mood like light. Be sure your Orange County kitchen has plenty.

Stunning Style in Rancho Santa Margarita

Small spaces can be a challenge for some Orange County general contractors. Not Inspired Remodels.

This small kitchen space in Rancho Santa Margarita applies the kitchen triangle concept for functionality. The palette is neutral without being boring.

For example, the variety of tones in the herringbone backsplash provide visual interest. Sure, white subway tile would have been more traditional, but it certainly wouldn’t elevate the small space in the same way.

Another way to make small spaces appear larger is the use of open shelves and cabinets.

The glass front cabinets in this kitchen serve two purposes. First they provide space to display the homeowner’s kitchen treasures. Second, they trick the eye into seeing the space as larger than it is.

It’s a visual trick because the eye sees beyond the cabinet door front to the rear wall of the cabinet. So, the eye sees to the wall and not the cabinet door. It’s a small thing, but with small spaces, those little things add up.

The trim and mouldings aren’t fussy or ornate so they draw the eye out. Clean lines make small spaces look larger too.
